So, I just booked tickets via BA on Aer Lingus, and transferred points from Chase UR to do so. On Avios.com, it said the cost of the flight per person was 17000 Avios. Yet when I called, the same flights were 24500 points, and the day I wanted (7/11) disappeared while on the phone. I ended up booking the flights the next day at the higher point total. I did get the phone fees waived at least. Is this a common occurrence? Somewhat annoyingly, the email arrived reflecting the original point total, and the rep claimed the points had been deducted in two separate transactions and the points were spent.
