Departure: France – Destination: Scotland
My girlfriend and I are going to Scotland at the end of June during 10 days. We scheduled to stop by Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fort William and Portree. While we already planned to use public transit in cities, we would like to lease a car for more authentic places outside cities especially for the Isle of Skye.
Unfortunately, it seems that car rental agencies add a surcharge for young people under age 24 (40€/day in addition of the initial cost).
Did you know some alternatives to visit the countryside in those regions? Shuttle bus? Is hitchhiking a viable solution in Scotland?
Thanks a lot for your answers.
